SOLAR WATER PUMP FOR HUISUCHI, BATOPILAS
FEBRUARY 2006

In the month of February we greeted the distinguished members of the “ROTARY CLUB DEUTSCHLANDSBERG” located in Austria: Gerard Pongratz, Wolfgang Moser, Varl Salchginger and Varl Berna Furnschuss, all led by Mrs. Leopoldin Ganser. They were accompanied by personnel from the “Coordinación Estatal de la Tarahumara”, Rotary Club Chihuahua, Majalca, JCAS, along with the German interpreter Liliana Sandoval Flores. Together they visited the community of “Huisuchi” in the county of Batopilas, Chihuahua, Mexico. Its purpose was to know the place, and to see if it would be possible to install a water solar pump with sufficient capacity to sustain the bilingual primary school “Cuauhtémoc” located in that community, as part of the worldwide project “Water for Health”

It is to be acknowledged that the group of Austrian Rotaries will donate this pump for the benefit of all the citizens of Huisuchi, which are indigenous “Rarámuris”.
